Ben Folds Live

Singer/Songwriter Ben Folds (formerly of the now defunct Ben Folds Five), a hometown hero of Chapel Hill, North Carolina was featured on NPR's All Things Considered recently. This segment is a must listen. Folds is on tour (called Ben Folds Live) with just his piano, allowing his audience, his fans, the people who buy his music, to fill in the parts that the band would usually play. Have you ever sang with a group of 4,000? The experience is sensational and will give you goosebumps.

We should be glad to have artists like Ben Folds, for his ability and desire to stay in touch with his audience, allowing them to join the show, in essence becoming the music that they dig. For music lovers, there's nothing better.

Folds released his first solo album, Rockin' the Suburbs in 2001 and followed it up this year with a live album entitled Ben Folds Live.
