Survivor 5 Premiere Rundown

I was moved by the teacher crying in the beginning because she felt so daunted by the task of having to pick the tribe members. She felt she wasn't a leader. Any person that chooses a career instructing first graders and can do so without killing them, is a born leader in my book. If you can handle a room full of six year olds, you can handle seven adult tribe members. With Tanya barfing all the time, she probably felt right at home.

This tribe is not as strong physically, but they do have strengths. They have a female Naval swimming instructor and a huge black software developer. Tanya looks physically fit, when she not yorking her lunch, and even the first grade teacher at her age looks good.

The main thing they have going for them is their intellect and logic. They figured out how to steer their boat correctly. They didn't try to man-handle it into submission. The other tribe paddled their boat backward all the way to their beach... fighting it the entire time.

Plus, I think having the beach that faces sunrise was a great stroke of luck. Sunset is hot, sticky and difficult to see in. Sunrise will allow them to awake early and get to bed early. And, they have the caves. No need to make a shelter and cram everyone in together. They may even get some privacy.

They almost won the first immunity challenge. But, Ghandia's inability to deal with stress did them in. Due to this, she felt she would be the first to be voted off... but I knew better.

Yes, she's a liability. But, she does work as a team member. John did not. He was selfish, arrogant and convinced at the end that there was an alliance he wasn't a part of. He couldn't accept the fact that he just didn't play the game correctly and alienated himself.

Good for them. At this point in the game, teamwork is important to their survival. At least Ghandia will get to stay a while longer and will have the chance to lose some of that baby fat she's got stored.

Wow. I agreed with you up until the last sentence... "lose some of that baby fat" is probably the most retarded thing you could have added on to a perfectly awesome Survivor review. What the hell does her size have to do with anything? Its about time they had a girl on there that wasn't anorexic already (and thus prepared to cope with lack of food...)

It's all subjective, and isn't written for everyone to agree upon. It's my take on the show. That's what blogs are all about!

If you have your own take on the show, post it and ping the TrackBack URL for this piece. Then I'll come read it and will decide if I want to be a troll in your post.
