Thundering Heavy Metal: oh yeah!

Heavy Metal Thunder
Saxon
(SPV)

Bill Byford and his NWOBHM stalwarts Saxon, are still at it. Their most recent release, Killing Ground, was a great slab of trad metal. Saxon produce heads down head-banging stuff with equal parts melody and power. Still huge on the continent, Saxon fly the flag for metal. HMT sees the band re-recording some of their classics with the aid of new technology. This is not a greatest hits record as such, but a reinterpretation of the old stuff. It really works, reminding the listener that Saxon have produced some great shit in their long career, like 'Denim & Leather' and 'Strong Arm of the Law'. Also included in the package, a second CD with 5 live tracks (only one a repeat from the first CD) including 'The Eagle has Landed' and Bin Laden's favourite, 'Crusader', plus a video. Nineteen tracks of pure unadulterated British metal; what are you waiting for? Get this, crank it up, and let hair fly!

Rock on! But it's actually Biff Byford, not Bill (Biff sounds so much tougher!).
