Billboard Gets Zingy

Zingy, the largest mobile entertainment provider in North America, and Billboard magazine announced today that Zingy has been selected to provide mobile entertainment solutions to Billboard.com. Music consumers who visit Billboard.com will be able to buy ringtones of their favorite artists provided by Zingy.

"This is a major accomplishment for Zingy. For more than 108 years, Billboard magazine has been widely regarded as the leader in providing both charts and news on the music industry and we are proud to now offer our mobile entertainment products to their loyal readers," said Fabrice Grinda, founder and CEO.

Full-page ads promoting Zingy will be featured throughout Billboard magazine's print edition on an on-going basis to further promote the relationship, which launched this week. Zingy content is available on the Web here.

"Mobile entertainment is one of the true bright spots on the digital landscape," said Ken Schlager, Vice President of Business Development for Billboard Music Group. "We are pleased to enter into a market that generates proven revenues while providing promotional value for artists."

It all sounds very interesting, but I have a deep prejudice against company names that begin with "Z." Also, do I really want to listen to music over the phone? I imagine the target audience for this is a bit younger than I.
