George: Polyserena
Published August 13, 2002
A recent find of mine was this excellent album. With rich warm tones and striking female vocals, Polyserena is a great debut CD by Australian group, George. Alternating from soft and smooth, lounge-type music to more uptempo and angst filled boppy songs this album is filled with quirky little numbers and surprising twists.
Highlight tracks for me were "Release" and Bastard Son". Very different sounding tracks to each other. Release is special because of the amazing vocal range and distinctive sound of Katie Noonan. She has the voice of an Angel and the music soars because of this. Sometimes soft and quiet, other times overpowering. Release flows beautifully.
'Bastard Son' features the other vocalist of George - Tyrone Noonan ( I think he is her brother ). This song is full of angst with a powerful expressive force. A bit more darker and bitter perhaps. In sum a great listen, recommended with you want to listen to Alternative Aussie band from Brisbane (also known as Bris-Vegas). This album shines.

this is the most amazing album i have ever heard and i just wish thta i had heard of george sooner. katie noonan is the most beautiful person i have ever seen inside and out. i love george
george have created so many empowering songs which collectively promote positive thoughts and the strength they generate through music permeates through any listener willing enough to repsect them. musically they are phenomenal, it is very risky music executed beautifully and are just one of a kind. sellout is my favourite from polyserena because it spreads the idea that materialism generates a negative undertone on humanity and promotes the natural human soul telling us "it's eaten away at you" (commercialism)
love em, respect em and believe every word they say
You should check out Elixir if you like katie noonan's singing. It's actually a little side project that involves Katie and Nick (who plays the guitar in george) and they are very very good.
Not sure where their album is selling but it's worth a look.
Just for a bit of extra info, both Katie and Tyrone had gone through operatic training with their mother, Maggie Noonan, who is an opera singer in Brisbane. Probably the reason why they're both so good live and their voices are quite crisp and in the many performances I've seen, never out of pitch.

this is the most incredible album i have ever heard, better then slverchair's diorama.
it is truly astiounding, katie's voice is so beautiful, and takes you to many levels of harmony, and always gives me confidence within myself, (and yes tyrone is her brother ^_^)it makes you feel happy, it just flows and the music makes it so beauty how could anyone not like it? katie is my idol, i cant help it, shes just such an inspiration thak you all the people who made george who they are and all the people who have supported them.
long live george, you are so amazing, and beautiful.
joyful girl, thank you
