The newsfeeds are broken.

I believe theyr'e fixed.

Well, sorta. The dead file problem we had in the AM should be gone, but I see a larger issue....

The RSS files are going out with (I think) the traditional 15 items in them. There have been I think around 40 reviews and articles posted just in the last 24 hours, though, which brings me to...

What do you want from RSS feeds? If people will use them, we can put them out in all sorts of ways, including seperate feeds based on category, genre, etc. I could pull off all sorts of funky flavors, but I really don't want to go to the trouble if the effort is wasted.

So send me an email. Anyone with an interest in Blogcritics via XML. I'm a syndication fan myself, but too often I've seen cool concepts not actually serve a purpose, so show me what you want and tell me you'll actually use it and we'll see what we can come up with.

American Democracy's Lowest Point
William Saletin of Slate.com did a nice job of calling Bush's Economic Summit what it was, a sham. One fact makes his point. There was not one shred of dissent from Bush's economic policies by the participants, who were billed as "ordinary Americans." Milosevic would've been proud. We should praise Saletin for this article, but I fault him as well. He made far too little of his data, not helping us see that this latest fraud means that American democracy has devolved to its lowest point in modern times. No other prominent modern American politician has made such a complete sham of the democratic process. Is this not a new low that should be heralded far and wide as our best wake-up call? Or is the media's fear of our corporatocracy too overwhelming?
