Amazon Hiccups

We are still experiencing periodic hiccups with Amazon, so please bear with us. If you make a comment and it shows up on the front page but not on the post, the post hasn’t been able to rebuild due to an Amazon error, which is not our fault but theirs. They have all kinds of new software, including this search-by-word extravaganza and they still have some bugs.

Once a given spell of freakishness is over, then we rebuild everything and it all shows up normally, so nothing is really lost. Proceed as normal, please.

And if you get an Amazon error when you are posting, again, just plod ahead, let me know what happened, and we’ll get it straightened out. I wish there was a competitor that offered the deep linking to images that Amazon does, but there simply isn’t one and we are stuck riding this out with all of their other half-million affiliates. I can only hope and believe they will get things permanently striaghtened out soon.

Thanks and pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

In case anyone is concerned, the Blogads server is down, that’s why the site loaded very slowly in the 7PM ET hour, ads disabled overnight, will be up and running in the AM

  • Eric Olsen

Phillip, if you see this when you get back in, the Blogad server is back up. Thanks!

Eric, I’m back (Kill Bill was better than i expected), and I’ve re-enabled the ads.

More Amazon perfidy – once again we have had to disable our Amazon connection because errors on their servers are directly affecting our ability to rebuild, messing up comments, new posts, etc, etc. Please proceed as normal – their incompetence is outrageous.

It’s even worse than it appears… If only killing somebody would actually make things better, I might consider it.

Both Amazon and Blogads are having trouble right now. Both are disabled.

Yes, we’ve had the perfect storm now for about three weeks. That we have survived at all is a miracle.
