AC/DC Announces First 2009 US Tour Dates

AC/DC has announced the first eight dates for their upcoming summer 2009 tour, kicking off at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA on July 28.

The band is continuing to tour to support their hit album Black Ice.  Released last year, Black Ice was  AC/DC's first album in eight years and debuted at #1 in 29 countries and has gone multi-platinum in 18 countries and platinum in another five.  In addition to releasing their first new album in eight years, the band also offered up several tracks to gamers who have fallen into the Rock Band craze as well as bringing their No Bull concert film to Blu-rayBlack Ice and the Rock Band game packs are both being sold exclusively through Walmart.

AC/DC played more than 40 North American dates in 2008 as well as touring extensively across Europe.  Tickets go on sale Saturday, April 11 for the first five of the eight announced dates.  Tickets for the San Jose concert go on sale Sunday April 12.  Tickets for the San Diego concert go on sale Saturday April 18.  Tickets for the Los Angeles concert go on sale Saturday April 25. More US dates are expected to be announced soon.
