It is with great excitement that WSF Productions announces the 2002 ACA World Sound Festival, which will take place November 1-3, 2002 in Acapulco, Mexico. ACA 2002 is the most anticipated event in Latin America. AWSF 2002 will be co-produced by World Sound Festival (WSF) Productions and En Vivo, which is co-owned by Televisa and Clear Channel.

“We are very excited about our partnership with En Vivo and how amazing and eclectic this festival will be, setting a new standard for world-class events,” comments Michael Hahn, executive producer of the AWSF. With this new alliance, AWSF will become “a global experience uniting the world through music.”

In November 2000, the first annual ACA World Sound Festival brought magic to Acapulco in a setting that was nothing short of paradise. 75 DJs and live acts (including Moby, Carl Cox, LTJ Bukem, Poncho Sanchez, et al.) kept five stages and 60,000 people dancing for three unforgettable nights. The spell of the moon, the breeze of the ocean, and the dazzling array of talent, costumes and light set a new standard for festivals all over the world.

ACA reverberated long after the music stopped. True to their word, the festival donated $120,000 USD of the proceeds to build a kindergarten in a low income community of Acapulco, fund a home for orphans of AIDs victims and restored sight, through surgery, to more than 100 people.

The ACA World Sound Festival 2002 will be even more spectacular than its predecessor. This year, the talent will reflect a truly global range of musical stars and styles. The first two days of the festival will take place on five stages constructed on the beach near Barra Vieja. The third night of the festival moves into the city, with a set of after parties at two of Acapulco¹s best clubs, Palladium and Enigma.

As it did in 2000, the ACA World Sound Festival 2002 will also continue its commitment to raise funds for charity for the state of Guerrero through the Million Wishes Latin America Charity Fund. $120,000 USD will be donated to charity. In addition, the festival will create approximately 1000 jobs and pump an estimated $10 million USD into Acapulco¹s economy.

ACA2002 has already received tremendous support from its corporate sponsors: Cuervo, SICO, Boost, Diesel, and its promotional partners: Mix-up, Telehit, Deep, Escaparate, WFM, Radioactivo, Imagen, Acapulco Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Presidencia Municipal de Acapulco.

Within Mexico, tickets go on sale September 23rd at 11am through Ticketacces (91-400400) at Diesel stores and at the Televisa Santa Fe ticket office. Ticket Prices for 1 day are $950.00 pesos; 2 days, $600.00 pesos per day.

Freaking crazy! All those acts and Acapulco too? Maybe next year I can perform in it. Are you up for it Mike?
