AOL and Survivor producer team up

Survivor producer Mark Burnett and America Online will collaborate on an online show that engages viewers with a real-life treasure hunt. Short episodes will be available at AOL.com and will provide the core of a competition in which viewers race to find hidden gold in the U.S. Clues will be hidden on such websites as AOL.com, Moviefone.com and Mapquest.com. Clues are also expected to turn up in other media as well.

Miss Elliott to Stick It

Missy Elliott has been tapped to co-score in an upcoming Disney film about gymnastics. The film is entitled Stick it. Eliott’s single “We Run This” from her CD The Cookbook will be on the soundtrack. She is also collaborating with Mike Simpson on the score for the film. The film stars Missy Peregrym and Jeff Bridges and should be out in April.

The Arctic Monkeys are most popular

The Arctic Monkeys have the most popular band or artist site in the UK. With the debut of their CD, which is the fastest selling debut album of all time, the web research firm Hitwise said they have seen an increase of searches on the band of 62%. Prior to this boom in popularity, much of the Arctic Monkeys website’s traffic came from blogs and chatrooms. A significant amount of their web traffic came from the community website Myspace.com
