Earlier in 2013, writer-producer-actor Marlon Wayans scored a hit with A Haunted House, a horror-comedy that spoofed movies like Paranormal Activity. Produced for the relatively paltry sum of approximately $2.5 million, the Michael Tiddes-directed film grossed just under $60 million worldwide.
The sequel, A Haunted House 2, is set to freak out moviegoers March 28, 2014. The first teaser trailer is now available for viewing. Tiddes has returned to direct the sequel. Wayans is also back in his triple-billed role (again in collaboration with co-writer/co-producer Rick Alvarez), starring as the hapless Malcolm Johnson.
Malcolm has a new love interest this time around, a single mother of two named Megan (Jaime Pressly). Not long after moving into their dream house, the paranormal events start up all over again. Returning cast members include Dave Sheridan, Affion Crockett, and (back from the dead) Essence Atkins as Malcolm’s deceased ex, Kisha.
