A Natural Disaster
Anathema’s newest release continues down the path they were on the stunning A Fine Day to Exit. After such a triumph, (think Mindcrime for Queensryche) it would be hard to live up to expectations. This album comes as close as one could possibly hope to expect. Its a simply stunning album of gothic prog music, with lush flowing tunes that are both interesting and pleasant to listen to. The title track with its female vocals evokes pretty much all that is good with this genre. If you like their previous album then this CD is a must, if you are looking for doom metal then look elsewhere. This album sits very well with Opeth’s Damnation. Oh yes, and like most good albums, it gets even better with age.
