Yes, a new word has been coined, and it can only be used in reference to one of the most exciting, original and well-written primetime dramas of the 21st century.

Not only are the characters well developed, but the plots are clearly very well thought out and the flow of action in each and every episode in unparalleled on the small screen.

Last night, President David Palmer was voted out of office, the main character, Jack Bauer (played by Kiefer Sutherland) found a chip with vital information on it that could possibly help to avoid a war, the director of an FBI “like” group called CTU was trashed by his crooked boss who is being controlled by, apparently, a crooked vice president, who by the way became president at the end of the episode. Whew! This was a 1-hour program that had more drama and action than most Jackie Chan movies.

FOX has pulled out some great comedies in the past–ala The Simpson’s, Malcolm in the Middle, and the new unbelievably funny Oliver Beene–but never has fox pulled out an action thriller drama like 24. In fact, I can’t think of any other non-cable stations that have either. This is easily one of the best shows on television.

About Jeff Petermann

  • Eric Olsen

Last night was a great episode in an excellent season – the 25th amendment angle is creative but a bit farfetched, but war has turned on less than the clash of personalities, agendas, egos, and ideology at play here.

  • Oh yeah, 24 is the shiznit. Hell, you didn’t even mention the terrorists’ nuclear bomb exploding halfway into the season.

Also, they’ve come up with the sexiest evil women on TV, starting with the president’s ex-wife who would appear to be behind this little 25th amendment palace coup.

Three more hours this season. Tick, tick, tick.

Oh, one more really good thing with this series. The story will be resolved at the end of the season. There will be no cliffhanger drug out for months and months. In the last show, all will be resolved- happily or tragically we’ll know how it came out.

  • Me, I waiting for Kim to come across her homicidal ex-employer when she stops by the house to pick up her clothes. . .

  • Eric Olsen

Yeah, that has to be who she shoots in the promos. Also since she is the same age and looks very much like my oldest daughter, the father-daughter emotional scenes tear me up.

  • Kiefer Sutherland has one expression on his face the whole time.

I watched one and couldn’t watch any more because I laughed too much.
